Our Story
XALAQUIA was born from the union of fashion, identity, and purpose — but above all, from something deeply personal: my love for the sea.
The founder
I’m Daniela
Founder and creative director of the brand. I have always felt a deep connection with the ocean, with the sand, with that feeling of freedom and calm only the sea can give.
Over time I understood I wanted to create something that conveyed exactly that — pieces that would make people feel connected to themselves, to their emotions, and to the moments that truly matter.
After years working in branding, communication, and design, I decided to build a brand with soul — a project where creativity, sensitivity, and purpose could come together into something deeply human. That is how XALAQUIA was born — inspired by Mexico, by its roots, and by the stories that transform us.
I have always believed that what we wear can also tell who we are, how we feel, and what we want to remember.

The name
XALAQUIA — the one dressed in sand
The name comes from Nahuatl. When I found that word I felt an immediate connection, because it represents the essence of the brand exactly: a woman who is free, sensitive, strong, and connected to nature.
To me, XALAQUIA is a way of remembering our relationship with the sea, with the earth, and with everything that makes us feel part of something greater.

Since its beginnings in 2017 and its official launch in 2019, XALAQUIA has evolved alongside me and everyone who has been part of it.
Today we understand each collection as a Living Anthology — pieces that tell stories, accompany meaningful moments, and connect with different versions of those who wear them.
The Purpose
More than swimwear, we want to create experiences.
Designing pieces that carry intention, emotion, and a new way of living summer — something more authentic and conscious. We believe in fashion as a tool to connect people, awaken emotions, and create positive impact.
