Our Story
XALAQUIA is born from the union of fashion, identity and purpose — but above all, from something deeply personal: my love for the sea.
The founder
I’m Daniela
Founder and creative director of the brand. I have always felt a deep connection with the ocean, with the sand, with that sense of freedom and calm that only the sea can give you.
Over time I understood that I wanted to create something that conveyed exactly that: pieces that make people feel connected with themselves, with their emotions and with the moments that truly matter.
After years working in branding, communication and design, I decided to create a brand with soul — a project where I could bring together creativity, sensitivity and purpose in something deeply human. That is how XALAQUIA was born, inspired by Mexico, by its roots and by the stories that transform us.

The name
XALAQUIA, she who is dressed in sand
The name proviene del náhuatl. Cuando encontré esa palabra sentí una conexión inmediata, porque representa exactamente la esencia de la marca: una mujer libre, sensible, fuerte y conectada con la naturaleza.
To me, XALAQUIA is a way of remembering our relationship with the sea, with the earth and with what makes us feel part of something greater.

Living Anthology
2017 — 2019
Since its beginnings in 2017 and its official launch in 2019, XALAQUIA has evolved with me and with everyone who is part of it.
Today we understand each collection as a Living Anthology: pieces that tell stories, accompany special moments and connect with the different versions of whoever wears them.
The purpose
More than creating swimwear, we want to create experiences.
Designing pieces that convey intention, emotion and a new way of experiencing summer — from a more authentic and conscious place. We believe in fashion as a tool to connect people, awaken emotions and create positive impact.
